Since its opening in June of 2003, Sunrise Farm has remained family-owned and operated. Located on Tinkling Springs Road (Hwy 608) in Stuarts Draft, VA, the farm is run by Maynard and Shirley Miller and their children. Jonathan Miller, one of their sons, and his family live on-site to manage the day-to-day operations of the store. Two more sons, Anthony and Jeffrey, manage the feed mill and production.
The Millers are a well-known, local Mennonite family who have lived in Stuarts Draft for many years. They have extended family ties in Draft, as well. Maynard's first cousin and his wife (David and Miriam Miller) own Miller's Bake Shoppe on Wayne Avenue. If the farm isn't enough to keep everyone busy, Maynard and his son, Arlen, also own and run Miller's Small Engine Repair on Mullins Lane!
Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley with views of the Blue Ridge & Allegheny Mountains, Sunrise Farm raises chickens, turkeys, cattle and hogs on its beautiful acreage. The Millers' goal is to provide naturally grown meat and eggs that are free of added medications or hormones. Additionally, Sunrise Farm manufacturers its own feed, which is free from genetic modification. And, the poultry are free-range and the cattle grass fed.
Folks come from all over Virginia (even as far away as Virginia Beach) to purchase Sunrise Farm fresh meats, eggs and feed. We welcome guests and hope you'll come to visit soon.
